Delete your account and data
Puff Counter app (“Puff Counter - Quit Vaping” on the App Store and Google Play), developed by Selanto Apps, Rotterdam, Netherlands.
In short: delete everything in two taps inside the app, or email us and we will do it within 30 days.
Option 1: delete in the app (fastest)
- Open Puff Counter.
- Go to Settings.
- Tap “Delete account and data”.
- Confirm. For security, the app may ask you to sign in again first.
Deletion starts immediately. Your cloud backup and your account are removed, and the data on your phone is cleared. You do not need to contact us.
If you use the app without an account, the same option clears all local data from your phone. Deleting the app from your phone also removes local data.
Option 2: delete by email
If you no longer have the app installed, or the in-app option does not work, email support@puffcounter.app with the subject “Delete my account”. Send the email from the address linked to your account, or include your user ID (Settings > Copy user ID in the app) so we can find it.
We may ask a question to confirm that the account is yours. We delete the account and its data within 30 days of your request and confirm by email.
What is deleted
- Your account (Firebase Authentication record, including your name, email address and sign-in method).
- Your cloud backup: profile details, onboarding answers, app settings, quit plan and your full puff history.
- Your profile picture.
- The data stored on your phone, when you delete in the app.
What is not deleted, and why
- Your Premium subscription. Deleting your account does not cancel it. Cancel it in your store account: on iOS under Settings > your name > Subscriptions, on Android under Google Play > Payments and subscriptions > Subscriptions.
- Purchase records held by Apple or Google under their own terms, and the accounting records we must keep for 7 years under Dutch tax law. They contain the store transaction, not your puff data.
- Crash reports and aggregated usage statistics that cannot be linked back to you. They expire on their own schedule (crash reports after 90 days, usage statistics after at most 14 months).
- Emails you sent to support, kept for up to 2 years so we can follow up, unless you ask us to delete them too.
Delete only your puff history
If you want to keep your account but start over, use “Delete only puffs” in Settings. This removes your puff history from your phone and from your cloud backup and keeps your account and settings.
